How often should PAT testing be carried out?

How often an appliance needs to be tested really depends on what it is and the environment in which it is used. For example, an electric drill used on an outdoor building site will be more likely to become unsafe in use than a photocopier used in an office environment.

We follow the guidelines given by the Health & Safety Executive and detailed in the Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment to determine how often an appliance needs to be inspected and tested.
